What does "dotted" or "triplet" mean in the delay time table?

A dotted note lasts one and a half times as long as its straight value (adds half again), which is why the dotted column is always 1.5× the straight column. A triplet note fits three notes in the space normally taken by two, so it lasts two-thirds as long — the triplet column is always 2/3 of the straight column.

Tap tempo works by measuring the time between your clicks with the browser’s high-resolution clock, then averaging the last few intervals so a single mistimed tap doesn’t throw off the reading. Tap steadily for at least 4–8 beats for the most accurate result — the first two taps alone will work, but more taps smooth out human timing variation.

Why is there a minimum and maximum BPM (20–300)?

This covers the practical range of musical tempos, from a very slow ballad (~20–60 BPM) to extreme genres like speedcore (~250–300 BPM). Values outside that range are almost always a mistyped tempo rather than a real musical one.
