How This Calculator Works
Scale Recipe mode multiplies every ingredient amount by the same ratio — the servings you need divided by the servings the recipe currently makes — so proportions stay exactly correct, whether you're halving a recipe or scaling it up for a crowd.
Convert Ingredient mode converts between volume (cups, tablespoons, teaspoons) and weight (grams, ounces) for a specific ingredient, using that ingredient's density — because a cup of flour and a cup of honey don't weigh the same amount, a generic volume converter can't do this conversion accurately.
